Dreamland Battle of the Bands 2017
If you’ve ever wanted to know what it’s like to fill the Dreamland stage with sounds and moves, then ask no more. Kavanagh, as the wonder of a rapidly prominent modern sound from the musically stirring Herne Bay music scene, hit the inaugural ‘battle of the bands’ with style and grace. The singing front man Dave Emmons covered every inch of the stage (and available air space) wherever he could. He really engaged with the audience, a fantastic intermediary between the band and the audience
The delicate tones of the Telecaster were not drowned out by the wall wrecking potential of the Gibson played opposite. A really tight sound, kept in place by the dude on the drums. There was a fantastic contemporary vibe to the set.
Top marks for writing and performing their own tunes. As a side note, they also did a cover of Jamie T’s tune Zombie – and they covered it with style! These guys are real passionate performers!
Another brilliant product of a fantastic local music seen and definitely worthy of checking future gigs! You can follow them on Facebook for all future gig information.
