This really is a delight to listen in to, with their take on traditional indie structures and soulful, charismatic melodies. The Grand Merci - Funny Kind of Life EP Review

From the very first track, you get hooked on to the ever so soulful vocals and breezy guitar riffs of this indie 5 piece from Kent dropping their unique taste of melodic rock.

The Grand Merci - Funny Kind of Life EP Review

This, their first 4 track e.p. ‘Funny Kind of Life’ is relaxed yet pulses with energy with the subtle vocals and melodic guitars giving this e.p many seams of rich, warming, golden sounds draped in honey.

Loving the instrumental intros that brings up a relaxing and atmospheric ambient vibe with soft vocal sounds, there is so much to savour and enjoy on this thoroughly enjoyable e.p. from start to finish, cleverly mixing in influences from The Last Shadow Puppets/Arctic Monkeys. I dare you to pick your favourite track!

Hopefully this release will establish The Grand Merci as a name to watch out for in the future.
